RELATIVE PRONOUNS – VISUAL CLUES – GAME

This is fun and simple game which can be used with different levels especially in the production stage of a relative pronouns lesson. It’s also effective to be used as a review activity for the lesson.

Procedure :

  1. Show the pictures or project the first slide to the students ( See the files below )
  2. Practice the given example with the class ( see the files)
  3. Ask the students ( in pairs or groups) to write a long sentence with different relative clauses, using the pictures as clues.
  4. Each Picture should represent a different relative pronoun
  5. Students are asked to build their creative sentences according to the given order.

Example :

The produced sentence should look like this according to this slide and the given order (A – B - C – D) :
Yesterday I was in the park, which is near the school where I study music, which I like to listen when I go to have dinner with my parents in the restaurant, Where my uncle works.

You can change the order to ( for example : D - B - A - C ) and ask the students to produce a different sentence .
